Here at DR.LASH we have a range of eyelash extensions styles to cater to different preferences. The two main styles are – Natural and Volume.
This blog post will be focusing on the Natural series which consists of Au Natural and Doll.
Au Natural is our most natural looking set of eyelash extension. With each individual healthy lash that you have, our therapists will be extend with one strand of mink lash extension. Using the most advanced lash-by-lash technique, our therapists are trained to glue the extensions 0.1mm away from your eyelids. At DR. LASH, we only use premium mink lashes that ensures the set of extensions do not cause any discomfort. Depending on your lash count and the condition of your lashes, the thickness of the extensions will be between 0.12mm to 0.15mm.
As for the Doll, we use a Russian Volume technique. Each individual healthy lash that you have will be attached to a lash fan of three to four strands of extensions. Even though, it is under the Natural series, the Doll gives a thicker look and an eyeliner effect. All lash styles are customized for each individual and all lash fans are handmade. Likewise, depending on the condition of your lashes, we use lashes of thickness between 0.05 and 0.07mm which ensures the lashes will not be too thick or heavy.
Still not sure which to go for? Don’t hesitate to drop by for a complementary lash analysis. We will be more than happy to help you pick out a set of lashes that suits you the most!
Continuing from our previous post about the GRANDE LASH SERUM, I do now hope that you’ve achieved longer and fuller lashes, but what’s next?
It is common for Asian girls to have droopy lashes which mascara sometimes cannot even fix! If your lashes lack curl or if you prefer not having eyelash extensions, a lash perm may be the next most suitable option for you. Imagine how much time and effort you can save if you could wake up to naturally curled lashes! For this, DR. LASH has the perfect solution for you – the LASH LIFT.
Using only premium products from Korea and Taiwan, our Lash Lift takes about 1 hour and lasts approximately a month (subjected to individual’s lash condition). Our LASH LIFT process is a mild and safe procedure that is not harmful to your own lashes. Unlike many other salons, we do not use strong chemicals that will cause your lashes to turn fizzy and weak.
Our treatment comprises of 3 steps.
First, using an antibacterial foam cleanser, your eye area will be thoroughly cleansed and disinfected to prepare your lashes for the next step.
Secondly, a perming solution will be applied gently to your lashes with a tiny brush. Depending on your preference for either a natural or dramatic curl, our therapist will use a “curling rod” to perm your lashes to achieve your desired look. The perming solution will be applied for 2-3 rounds, every 10 minutes. To improve absorption of the solution, a plastic wrap will be placed on the lashes too.
Lastly, the “curling rod” is removed, your lashes are cleansed and a layer of conditioning cream is applied to strengthen the lashes.
The final product is a naturally curled set of eyelashes that make your eyes look brighter and bigger. The most enticing benefit of our LASH LIFT is that it takes almost no effort to take care of and it makes applying mascara so much easier. Enjoy this treatment at only $88 (U.P 108) if this is your first visit by quoting “LASHLIFT88”!

This post is particularly important for people who are new to eyelash extensions! Our customers often ask us about the SHOULD and SHOULD NOTs after their sessions to ensure that their eyelash extensions stay clean and last as long as possible. Below are a few tips on how to take good care of your eye area post-appointment!
- Try your best to keep them dry for the first 24 – 48 hours after your appointment. Avoid swimming/ sauna/ hot showers during this period.
- Avoid using oil-based makeup removers around your eye area; micellar cleansing water is your best friend!
- Use cleansing foam and a brush to cleanse the eyelashes and allow them to last longer – you can purchase a set at our DR.LASH outlets for only $28/-
- Comb your eyelash extensions regularly with a spoolie
- Rub your eye area harshly
- Sleep on your face
- Use oil-based products around your eye area
- Mascaras are strongly not recommended; a mascara/eyeliner effect can be achieved solely with eyelash extensions (check out our DOLL, DIVA and AVANT GARDE series)
- Do not attempt to remove/pull out the extensions on your own; always visit the salon for a proper removal session where the extensions can be removed safely without harming your natural lashes
Our patient and meticulous therapists will always remind our customers again on these important tips during and after the sessions so feel free to ask them anything if you have questions. Hope to see you soon! 🙂
How Long Does Eyelash Extensions Last For?
Are you contemplating on whether to get eyelash extensions but worried about how soon it’ll drop off? How long eyelash extensions can last on a person varies, due to several reasons such as the products used, the skills of the therapists, and the aftercare given. If everything is done right, it then all boils down to just one factor, the growth cycle of your own natural lashes.
Just like the hair on your head, your natural lashes go through 3 stages of growth, so seeing some lash loss is all part of the normal growth cycle.
Eyelash Growth Cycle
Anagen (Growth) Phase
Also known as the growth phase, the anagen phase is the period when your eyelashes are actively growing, and lasts between 30 and 45 days. Only about 40 percent of the upper lashes and 15 percent of the lower lashes are in the anagen phase at any one time. Each lash will grow to a specific length and then stop.
Catagen (Transition) Phase
The catagen phase is also known as the transition phase. During this phase, the lash stops growing and the shrinking of the hair follicle happens. If an eyelash falls out or is plucked out during this phase, it won’t grow back right away because the follicle needs to complete the catagen phase before it can move on to the next one. This phase lasts between two to three weeks.
Telogen (Resting) Phase
Known as the resting phase, the telogen phase can last more than 100 days before the eyelash falls out and a new one begins to grow. Because each individual lash is in its own phase of the growing cycle, it’s normal for a few lashes to fall out most days. It typically takes between four and eight weeks to fully replace an eyelash.
It’s therefore important to understand that it’s perfectly normal for your eyelashes to drop. However, proper cleansing of your lashes is also imperative to the shelf life of eyelash extensions. Proper care will help to keep them clean and remove excess oils from make-up or surrounding skin areas. Facial oils can also break down the bonds and integrity of the extension and can cause early extension separation.

Well, in short, you are. Eyelash extensions are bonded to the natural lash, rather than the eyelid, hence, contact with any part of the eye or skin is at the bare minimum. Though some adhesive might get on the skin at times, it is unlikely to be a significant amount. If you are unsure, do ask our LashCraft therapist to perform a patch test on a small part of your skin, this will give an adequate indication if you may have any adverse reaction to the adhesive used.
Here at DR. LASH, we use a different glue for customers with more sensitive eyes as an added precaution. Nonetheless, there are times that you have yourself to blame for any adverse reactions. For instance, frequent rubbing, and tugging on your eyelashes can not only rip off your lashes, but also transfer glue and other nasty stuff like dirt into your eyeballs, which can cause irritation in people who don’t even have sensitive eyes to begin with.
Hence, with the care and skills provided by our therapists, combined with proper hygiene and care, eyelash extensions will be safe for you. Should you be notoriously sensitive and want to take extra precaution, do get some advice from your optometrist first!
